Every writer needs an editor! Let’s make your work the best it can be with the following:

Developmental Editing

Think of developmental editing, also known as structural or substantive editing, as the “big picture” view of your work. This type of editing involves moving, adding, and deleting material to improve the text’s organization.

Stylistic Editing

One challenge writers face is creating coherent material that flows well at the sentence level. This is key to getting a book’s message across to readers. A stylistic edit includes tasks like making the passive voice an active one, and forming smooth transitions between paragraphs. Fear not — your authorial voice will be preserved in the final version of your work.

Copy editing and Proofreading

All writers know the experience of not being able to see the small details of their work after a while, because they’ve looked at it for too long. A copy edit will eliminate grammatical errors and will also ensure data is presented in a readable format. Plus, a proofread will do more than catch typos, because a spell checker will miss the difference between grizzly and grisly.

Beta Readings

A beta reading is a cost-friendly alternative to a developmental edit. I will read your manuscript and provide a one to two page letter describing my experiences with your text as a reader, which can help you decide what changes you’d like to make to your work.
